Argentinian designer Perez Sanz creates high-end, high-fashion one-of-a-kind art pieces that also function as jewelry.
This vintage oversized belt or purse buckle easily becomes a pendant with the addition of chain. This is made of hand-carved blocks of resin in a variety of amber shades. The pieces are set in an Alpaca silver frame (Alpaca is a metal commonly referred to as "German Silver", but it's actually an alloy of copper and nickel, and occasionally zinc and cadmium). It retains its shine with little or no polishing.
The buckle measures 4 1/8 by 3 3/8 inches. It has a very sculptural look and is completely hand-crafted. The polished silver back is marked PEREZ SANZ - 5519. It's in excellent condition. As a belt or a necklace, this will be greatly admired.
Perez Sanz and his father are silversmiths, architects and designers who have been crafting artistic accessories and objects since 1966 in Argentina. Every piece they design is handmade in their studio in Buenos Aires. Their work has been featured in various worldwide publications including American Vogue, Vogue Nippon, W Magazine, Departures, and others.
