This old Native American pendant is probably Navajo. The sterling silver design is modernist with a large genuine turquoise nugget in the center and five raised balls on a diagonal.
The turquoise cabochon is set in a sawtooth bezel. It's a fine gem-quality Southwest mine stone with natural matrix. The sterling plaque is 2 inches across the top and it widens down to 2 3/8 inches at the bottom. It's 1 3/4 inches high.
The pendant hangs from an added solid sterling silver chain marked 925 Italy. The chain measures 16 inches around. The entire necklace weighs 27.3 grams.
There are no markings on the pendant indicating this was made pre-1970 after which Native American markings became more common. We do not polish old silver as many collectors like the original aged patina but you can polish to your liking.
Excellent vintage condition. This is a beautiful understated piece.
