If anyone knew glamour and stand-out jewelry, it was Donald Stannard. He started his own line after working for Kenneth Jay Lane in the 1960s. After a mention in Vogue magazine, he became the designer for Broadway, TV shows like Dynasty, and many of the rich and famous. His list of celebrity clients is long and impressive. In 2000, he started designing exclusive commissions for a select clientele and the designs were not available to the public. He passed away in 2006 and his bold designs have become highly collectible.
These clip-back earrings emphasize the 'Star' quality of his work. Made of brushed gold-tone, a five-point channel set rhinestone star fills the earring. The earrings measure 1 1/2 inches across. Each is marked DONALD STANNARD. The gold is bright. The clear crystals are bright and intact. Excellent condition.
