Deeply carved and richly colored, this 1930s Bakelite buckle is the kind of piece that ignites the imagination.
Sure, you can use it as a buckle and it would be a fantastic one at that. BUT... don't stop there. We had visions of it being the clasp on a long Lucite chain, worn as a belt or necklace. The potential is there.
Meanwhile, this buckle stands on its own merits with deep carving and a butterscotch color that conjures up decadent sundaes. The double leaf (or feather) design measures up at 5 inches long by 1 3/8 inches wide. Clean metal clasp on the back. No chips or cracks. Excellent condition.
