The folks at Florenza must have wished they lived in more romantic times because their jewelry reflects the style of a sweeter, gentler era. This pin looks like it stepped out of a Grand Ball, on the gown of an aristocratic debutante, circa 1890. In fact, this gorgeous jewel is circa 1950s but it captures another time with perfection.
Shaped like a teardrop, the antiqued gold metal has an openwork design that's embellished with faux garnet rhinestones. The cameo is a real hand-carved shell, showing a pretty lady's profile.
The pin measures 1 3/8 by 2 inches. The back is marked FLORENZA and has a secure rollover clasp. Circa 1950s. Still in excellent condition with no wear to the gilt.
