Looking at this vintage Goldette necklace with Cupid shooting his bow and arrow at the lucky target, reminds us of an old saying girls used to write in each others autograph books...'When Cupid shoots his arrow, I hope he Mrs. you'. Whether Cupid 'Mrs.' you, Miss-ed you, or Ms'ed you, a nice romantic piece of jewelry from 'Cupid' always hits the mark.
This is like something from another era, something the folks at Goldette were very good at with their penchant for Victorian style aesthetics. The combination of multi-strand gold-plated chains and reverse-cut intaglio amethyst glass is never out of style.
This necklace features the amethyst cut glass pendant framed in ribbed goldplate metal. It measures 1 1/2 inches across. The chains measures 25 inches around at the shortest with the other two hanging a few inches longer. Along the chains are seven inset amethyst crystals. Beautiful!
We've had several of this same necklace over the years and they're usually signed GOLDETTE on the foldover clasp. This one is not marked but it's 100% Goldette. Someone just forgot to stamp the foldover clasp. Condition is excellent.
