Vintage Art Deco Revival Necklace - Rhinestones & Enamel Geometrics
We haven't been able to identify this jeweler's hallmark but give kudos to the maker who did an excellent job on this Art Deco Revival necklace. It's circa 1970s, when Art Deco design was rediscovered after decades of dormant obscurity.
The necklace displays the 1930s/40s penchant for geometric shapes...in this case it's triangles in alternate directions with alternating rhinestones, black enamel, and white enamel surfaces. The effect is striking and dramatic, especially when the triangles hang from a rhinestone studded chain. The foldover clasp snaps securely.
The backs of the triangles are not forgotten. They're pale goldtone metal, textured and thick... very well made to hold the pave-set crystal rhinestones or enamel work. The center triangle has the maker's hallmark which looks like a six-point star in a circle.
The necklace measures 15 1/2 inches around by 1/2 inch wide. It lays perfectly at the base of the neck...a beautiful circle of Art Deco triangles. Condition is excellent.
