This flower pin comes with a great reputation. It's Boucher.
Hooray for Boucher since they were known for their exceptional costume jewelry (see below).
This flower pin is made of textured goldtone. The leaves look like real leaves, folding in a natural way.
In the center is a quality faux pearl, probably made of glass with a shell-like lustrous surface.
The pin measures 1 7/8 inches across by 2 1/4 inches high.
Back is signed BOUCHER 8212.
Secure rollover clasp.
Excellent vintage condition. (The pin is all good goldtone all over. Those color shifts you see on the pin are just light reflections.)
A bit of Boucher history - Marcel Boucher jewelry was most popular from the 1940s-1950s. Known for high-quality materials, expert craftsmanship, and unique designs, his pieces typically feature intricate metalwork, rhinestones that resemble real gemstones, top-quality faux pearls, and colorful enamel work. A former fine jewelry maker with Cartier, Boucher was forced to move to the costume jewelry industry during the Great Depression. He worked for Mazer Brothers before starting his own business in New York City in 1937. In addition to his jewelry designs, Boucher patented six mechanisms for mounting dress clips – what we call double clip brooches.
