Is there a MACINNES among us? If so, here's your clan pin.

This vintage silvertone pin was made in Scotland and is made with the symbol of the MacInnes clan. The motto reads: GHIFT DHE AGUS AN RIGH. Translation: BY THE GRACE OF GOD AND THE KING.

Pin measures 1 5/8 by 2 inches. Back has a secure rollover clasp.
Very good pre-owned condition.

Originating in the western Highlands, the MacInnes clan takes its name from the Gaelic Mac Aonghais meaning “sons of Angus”.

Septs: ANGUS, MACAINSH, MACANGUS, MACANISH, MACCAINSH, MACCANCE, MACCANSH, MACINNES, MACMASTER, MASTERSON, MCAINSH, MCANGUS, MCANISH, MCCAINSH, MCCANCE, MCCANSH, MCINNES, MCMASTER

Crest: A sinister arm from the shoulder bendaways, attired in a close sleeve of the proper tartan of Clan Aonghais, cuff Vert, stringed Gules.

The clan are most associated with their historic seat at Kinlochaline Castle at Movern on the western edge of Scotland.

Currently, the MacInnes clan does not have a clan chief and it is unlikely one will be found. This is because the clan’s chief and heirs were assassinated in the 14th century leaving no possible way to find out who would be entitled to the position.
