One great thing about the 1960s was that if you had opinions you felt shy about expressing, there was a pin / button to do it for you. Nothing was off limits. Strong opinions were pinned to everything.

This pin says... JOHN WAYNE FOR SECRETARY OF DEFENSE. No doubt this was created by a John Wayne fan who felt he could even solve America's conflict over the Vietnam war.

The pin measures 1 1/4 inches across. It's made of celluloid on tin. The edge is marked with UUU, 28 ST. MARKS PL., NYC 10003.
This pin shows slight age foxing spots and a tarnished back that will clean up some with an eraser. It's still in very good condition.

(Our antique shop was just a few blocks from where this pin was made and for many years (1969 to 1988) we sold a very opinionated mega load of hippie / protest / cause / love / anti / pro / funny / flower pins to our expressive opinionated customers. Never saw this pin before. It's old and original and a rare one.)
