This is pretty bold for the Victorian era. The big pink glass stone is beveled all around to create sparkle at every turn.

The stone is set in beautiful etched goldtone, scalloped around the edge. It looks like gold but didn't test for 10K...could be a lower grade like 8K or 9K. At least, this is heavily gold-plated or filled with a glowing finish.

The pin measures 1 3/4 inches across by 1 3/8 inches high. Pin weighs 23.8 grams.

The back has the original pin stem with an early replaced rollover clasp to keep it secure.

The top of the back has an actual engraved signature...D. BARSTOW. This may be the maker of the pin or the name of the lucky recipient.

Through a strong magnifier, the surface of the stone shows age-related scuffs/nicks. To the eye, it's pinkly translucent, big and impressive.
