This vintage Israeli pin / pendant is sterling silver, enamel and Modernist.
This was one of a series of pindants made in Israel, reflecting the lifestyle of the new state (1948).
The pin shows a woman kneeling in front of what looks like shafts of wheat. Producing food, celebrating, dancing, working...those were the themes of these pins.
Measures 1 3/8 inches across by 1 3/4 inches high. Pin weighs 12.5 grams.
This tested for sterling. Back is blue enamel. The pendant loop is marked ISRAEL.
Unpolished, excellent vintage condition.
