This vintage gold-filled necklace is clever, funny and a successful marriage of two.

This estate piece started out as a Victorian gold-filled bracelet full of heart charms. Because one of the hearts is the clasp for the bracelet (that's how they made these back in the Victorian era), this could not be opened without a key to wear as a bracelet.

So, along came a creative someone who said...'Let's just get a nice chain and hang the bracelet from it as if it were a pendant of heart charms'. Voila! And so it is. And so it's now a beautiful antique piece of necklace.

The fine vintage chain is marked DANECRAFT with the gold-filled mark. It measures 15 inches around. It has a Victorian style watch chain hook that holds the bracelet of 10 charms. Each charm is beautifully decorated with repousse work and some of the backs are engraved with names...Ella, Lizzie, A.R., Margaret, Gladys, Martha, and other initials.

Necklace weighs 28.9 grams. The gold-filled patina looks great but could be polished to one's preference.

Excellent antique / vintage condition. (A short extension chain could be added to lengthen the necklace if needed.)
