This vintage Taxco Mexican cuff bracelet was obviously inspired by the work of Matilde Poulat - MATL - who turned sterling silver and gemstones into amazing jewelry art works.
This cuff bracelet has all the intricate silver wire work, detailed raised designs, and 'crumples' of silver bezels that hold genuine coral, turquoise and amethyst gemstones...in the impressive style of Matl.
The bracelet measures 7 inches around the inside (includes the 1 inch opening). It's 1 1/4 inches wide. Bracelet weighs 52.8 grams.
Inside is hallmarked with the Taxco artisan's registration number, which is TP-36 (perhaps someone who worked for Poulat). Also marked 925 for sterling and MEXICO. (The TP stands for Taxco and could the P stand for Poulat? That letter is the initial of the silversmith.)
Looking through a magnifier, we can see tiny bits of old white silver polish that's left in some crevices. Could be polished out but we leave that to the the buyer as some prefer patina left as found.
All the stones are intact. Excellent vintage condition.
