Vintage Freirich Necklace - A Marriage of Faux Amber - Bakelite Beads - image 1 of 7

At first, we thought this signed FREIRICH necklace might be amber. But it isn't. Then, we thought it looked a lot like carved root beer Bakelite. But it isn't. So it must be Lucite...brilliantly created with the inclusions of honey amber and the carving of Bakelite-like beads.

The necklace measures 19 inches around. It's 7/8 inch at the wide beads. Necklace weighs 86 grams.

It's in excellent vintage condition with a secure spring ring signed clasp.

ABOUT FREIRICH - Founded by Solomon Freirich, the French-American company Freirich existed from 1922 to 1990. Initially, the main focus was the manufacture of accessories for clothing and hats (including for Chanel and Dior). In the 1960s, the company launched a line of handmade jewelry, distinguished by their high-quality workmanship.
