Old and original...this early Art Deco necklace is made of brass with the remains of a gilt wash. The links are very geometric with classic Art Deco work that looks architectural (we've seen 1930's World's Fair building facades that look just like these links). The links are solid with raised and recessed patterns.
In the center, is a jet black glass intaglio of a classic warrior. Next to the original clasp is a link that matches those in the front of the necklace...a nice finishing touch for the back of the neck.
The necklace measures 16.5 inches around. The links are 5/8 inch high. The intaglio is 3/4 inch high. There's no marking on the necklace though we believe it was made in either Czechoslovakia or France.
The aged patina is beautiful as is though this would probably polish up to a bright goldtone. We know a lot of collectors like to leave these old beauties as found. Excellent condition.
