Don Quixote of La Mancha is a Spanish novel by Miguel de Cervantes. It was published in two parts, in 1605 and 1615. A founding work of Western literature, the book is often labeled "the first modern novel" and many authors consider it to be the best literary work ever written. No wonder Don deserved to be honored with a bracelet, marked MADE IN SPAIN.
This is a story panel bracelet with four vignettes relating to the adventures of the Man of La Mancha. Regarded as one of the funniest and most tragic books ever written, Don Quixote chronicles the adventures of the self-created knight-errant Don Quixote of La Mancha and his faithful squire, Sancho Panza, as they travel through sixteenth-century Spain.
Bracelet is made of German silver (not silver but mixed metal alloy that looks like silver). Each panel link is a cut-out engraved scene from the novel. The end medallion is a portrait which is either the author Cervantes or the imagined Quixote with a fine pointy beard and mustache.
Bracelet measures 7 inches long, not including the dangling portrait charm. It's 1 1/8 inches wide. Bracelet weighs 31.6 grams.
Minor age tarnish can be polished. Excellent detail. Excellent vintage condition. Circa 1940s.
