That describes the Symmetalic jewelry line that was developed in 1936. It basically fused a layer of gold vermeil to a solid sterling silver jewelry item.

This Symmetalic flower box pin is solid sterling silver topped with a layer of 12K gold.

The pin features a display of cut-out flowers within a box that's 1 3/4 inches each way. The flowers are detailed with petals and leaves all around.

Back is marked SYMMETALIC - STERLING + 12K.

Pin weighs 14.8 grams.

The patina is unpolished. The vermeil is still adding the golden glow to the sterling pin.

Excellent vintage condition.
