This vintage estate necklace is a nice one. It was made by a designer who signed it ~W~ 925 (for sterling).

We were told this was genuine amber which is true for the center stone on the pendant which is set on mother-of-pearl, which is set on sterling silver. But the beads that hold the pendant look a lot like genuine carnelian. It's hard to be sure which it is because amber comes in a similar color to carnelian. The good news is that whichever stone it is, it's a valued bead in a color that's rich with natural subtleties.

Necklace measures 17 inches around. The pendant hangs 1 3/4 inches long at center. The beads are about 6mm wide.
Necklace weighs 28.8 grams.

Good sterling patina and beautiful MOP iridescence. ~W~ did a great job.
