We're not sure what this pin is supposed to be which makes this edgy, toothy design so unique and Modernist.

Made in Taxco, this Mexican abstract pin is made of solid sterling silver with a gold on sterling raised bar rolling across the center.

It measures 3 3/4 inches across the "wave with a fence on top". It's 1 5/8 inches high at the widest. Pin weighs 18.1 grams. Secure rollover clasp.

Back is hallmarked TS-78 MEXICO - STERLING with a signature mark that's ASM. Haven't been able to identify the silversmith but it's one with a good sense of humor and offbeat sense of design. ASM is listed in the Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks by Bille Hougart.

Excellent vintage condition. Circa 1970s.
