When Chinese carved jade meets Mexican sterling silver, fantastic earrings happen.

These are incredibly handcarved gray green genuine jade and are set into a sterling silver frame that's also hand cut and made to fit like a glove around the jade. There's a twist of silver rope to outline the jade designs, each slightly different than the other. Both have the Chinese symbol at center that means 'Long Life'.

The back of the earrings are marked AIS STERLING. This is a Mexican maker who works well with stones, as these earrings confirm.

They measure 1 3/8 by 1 1/2 inches. Together, they weigh 30.2 grams. Clips hold securely.
