We wish we could find more of these Victorian gold pins. They're so inexplicably beautiful, somehow capturing the era with their plump shapes and hand etchwork and you know...the stuff you don't see much any more.

This pin tests for 10K gold which appears to be overlayed on the outside of the pin. There's some metal change on the back where the original clasp was obviously replaced for a more secure rollover clasp.

The center of the pin is a square of black stone which may be jet, onyx or glass. A tiny pearl sits in the center. The surrounding gold is decorated with a Greek key design while the outer edges are swirling etch work.

Pin measures 1 3/8 across by 1 3/4 inches long with the dangling gold bead. Through a magnifier, you'll see some flaws around the edge...some dings to the gold, indents, a little hole. It's things you don't want to see and you don't from the front.

Pin weighs 8.2 grams. Considering this pin has been around the block for many a decade, we'd say it's still in very good condition. Secure working rollover pin. Still extremely good-looking. Circa 1880s.
