This 1930s genuine Bakelite pin is shaped like a crescent. The black Bakelite is deeply carved and the crescent tips are pave set with clear crystal rhinestones.
The pin measures 2 by 1 7/8 inches. The back looks like it has a replacement rollover clasp but we think it's actually original because of the white metal rhinestoned bar securely fastened OVER it. Our guess is that the maker realized putting the pin bar across the lower part would result in it showing from the front. Odd but this is how it came from an estate.
The Bakelite has been tested...the stones are bright and intact. It's a great unusual pin from the Art Deco era.
