Napier designs were always out of the ordinary and out-of-the-box creative. In this case, it was a box of cumquats that were the inspiration for this mid-1950s charm bracelet.
This Napier bracelet features two large cumquat drops, topped with a thick curled tendril. (Some call these 'acorns' but Napier called them 'The Cumquat Series'.) The bracelet and charms are made of antiqued silver-plated metal.
Those cumquats are just part of this bracelet's charms. The other is a figural bottle charm with the face of pretty woman on each side. She appears to be Egyptian with a bird headpiece and a necklace of red glass beads and dangles around her neckline. The secure stopper twists open and the dauber is marked NAPIER along its side. The bottle measures 1 1/2 inches across by 2 1/2 inches high.
The bracelet measures 7 inches long. The multi link chain is 1/2 inch wide. The cumquats measure 1 1/2 inches long. They're ribbed and plump. The bracelet weighs 89.3 grams. The secure foldover clasp is marked NAPIER.
The Napier cumquat bracelet is a rare one. The Napier lady perfume bottle is also a rare piece. We found the bracelet pictured on page 310 of the book THE NAPIER CO. by Melinda Lewis. This book is 1010 pages of the history of Napier. Every page makes you love Napier jewelry even more.
Bracelet is in excellent vintage condition. (Still trying to find a picture of the lady bottle but this book is bigger than time allows.)
