This genuine sterling silver necklace has the registration hallmark of a Taxco Mexican craftsperson...TS-39 - 925 - MEXICO.

The pendant is framed in silver beads with a piece of block turquoise in the center.

Block Turquoise is made in blocks to look like turquoise. It may be all plastic polymer or it may have crushed or powdered turquoise or other stone mixed with resin or polymer. Block Turquoise sometimes has swirls of black added to simulate the look of matrix which this does.

The beads of faux turquoise and black onyx are probably also made from block stones.

Necklace measures 17 inches around. The center pendant hangs 1 7/8 inches long. Necklace weighs 31.6 grams.

Necklace is in excellent vintage condition. The silver pendant and toggle clasp have been acid-tested for sterling.
