Here's the news...good, bad, and not too ugly.
This genuine Art Deco bracelet is from the 1930s and has 'the look'...spare, stylized and symmetrical. The cluster of bow-like rods on the top are duplicated at the hinge side. The sides are sleekly enameled in a midnight sky blue and a close look will have you thinking that you see the luminescence of the Milky Way.
The bracelet opens on a strong hinge and closes securely with the slide-in box clasp.
So the bad news is that it does show some age-related metal wear. The gilt that had been on the metal is a bit worn, leaving the silvertone exposed...which actually looks more deco 'chromy'. We didn't polish the metal though in this case it might help revive it. We leave these major decisions to the buyer who may prefer it just as it is.
The enamel is good with no notable wear or dings. No marking. Just the right good look. And, adding to its credibility...good weight at 46.6 grams. The inside measures 6 1/2 inches around. Bracelet is 1/2 inch wide.
Very good and wearable and still so appealing Art Deco.
