This big puffy sterling silver fan-shaped 'ruffle' is both a pin and a pendant. It gets its chunky lush look from the electroform technique, also known as the 'lost wax' method of jewelry-making. The oldest known example of this technique is a 6,000-year old amulet from the Indus Valley Civilization.
This oversized pin shines with its fabric-like folds. It measures 3 1/2 inches across by 3 inches high. It weighs 36.9 grams.
The back is marked 925 with maker's mark which may be J.J. We've just lightly wiped it but we leave any serious polishing of the patina to the buyer.
This can be worn as a pin with its original deep ~C~ clasp. There's a loop at each side for adding a chain so you can wear this as a necklace too. Either way, this will be a fantastic standout piece of jewelry.
This estate piece is circa 1970s...in excellent vintage condition.
