We'd introduce you but we don't know who these people are.
The lovely Victorian couple are sepia portraits in this beautiful locket from circa 1880. The gold-filled locket has a monogram on one side and a finely etched design on the other and you almost can't tell the difference since those old monograms were done like fancy designs.
At the other end of this beautiful textured gold-filled link watch chain is an ornate gold-filled heart charm, made with a keyhole.
The chain measures 8 inches long with the charms about 1 inch. The clasp at the end of the watch chain makes this perfect to wear as a bracelet as it can be hooked right onto the heart loop.
There are two hallmarks for W & H CO. This was Wightman & Hough Co. The jewelry company was established in 1856. Operating in Providence, Rhode Island, they manufactured a variety of gold-filled, rolled gold, and sterling silver jewelry. They were especially known for their lockets, medallions, and seals, and produced their beautiful wares till 1922. In an old Victorian era ad, they referred to their products as "an indication of refinement and good taste".
Minimal age-related patina. Overall in excellent antique condition. Definitely indicates LOTS of refinement and good taste.
