This original WWII sterling silver wings pin was made for an Army Air Force aerial gunner...a bombardier. That's the symbol represented in the center of the wings.
The pin measures 2 inches across by 5/8 inch high. This size may have been made to be worn by the gunner and / or sent home as 'sweetheart jewelry'.
This is a rare pin as gunners were specialized soldiers and not many got to earn them.
Back has a secure rollover clasp. Marked STERLING. Original unpolished patina.
Excellent vintage condition. Circa 1939 to 1945.
