This old sterling silver and carved green onyx Mexican head pin gave us a good chuckle. It wasn't till long after we brought him home that we noticed that his earrings were not original. But being good natured and taking things as they come, he wasn't complaining and, in fact, those earrings look pretty good on him.

The earrings match the green onyx of the face and are either onyx or could be genuine jade. Both look very similar and both were used in Mexican jewelry. The earrings are for pierced ears which are represented by a double hole on each side of the silver.

The head measures 2 1/2 inches across the silver headdress which is beautifully hand-formed and fanned out in an open design. Measures 2 3/4 inches long with these earrings but 2 1/2 inches to the chin.

Back is hallmarked SILVER MEXICO and another word that falls off the edge. Secure rollover clasp.

You can switch up the earrings to others you think will look good on him and we're sure he won't mind if you borrow his.

Excellent vintage condition. Circa 1940s.
