St. Patrick's Day is coming. Just in time for this wonderful vintage rosary that was made in Ireland.

The beads are green molded glass with an embossed shamrock on each bead...on each side. There's a silvertone 2 inch Celtic cross with an image of Jesus. The center junction where the beads meet has a silvertone image of LOURDES.

The rosary measures 25 inches long as laid out in the photo. It would be about 34 inches long if you put it around your neck.

Shamrock comes from the Irish Gaelic word Seamrog, a word that refers to the plant's three leaves. Irish legend says that St. Patrick used the shamrock to visually illustrate the concept of the Trinity to explain Christianity to the pagan kings in 432 A.D.

The shamrock is also Ireland's symbol of good fortune, something we can all use, all the time.
Handmade in Ireland. Overall in excellent vintage condition.

And now to celebrate St. Pat's...maybe a green salad washed down with an Irish beer.
