This vintage Mexican sterling silver link bracelet is pre-eagle (1948) and pretty fantastic. It was crafted by silversmith ERR whose initials hallmark inside a HECHO EN MEXICO D.F. 0.925 circle is listed in the Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks book by Bille Hougart.
The bracelet is substantial in design and crafting. The six hinged links alternate with black onyx masks on curves of silver and bezel-set white onyx with silver stripes. There's dramatic contrast and balance in this unique design.
The slide-in box clasp snaps in securely. When closed, the bracelet measures 7 inches around the inside by 1 inch wide.
Bracelet weighs 55.3 grams.
The hallmark includes the letters D.F. which stands for the Federal District of the City of Mexico. ERR's later pieces were marked Taxco.
We left the silver patina wiped but not polished. We leave that to the preference of the buyer. Excellent vintage condition.
