Crafty Sterling Silver Taxco Mexican Pin Looks Like Lock - image 1 of 5

From the front, you'll swear it's a lock with keys. But this cleverly crafted 'lock and keys' is actually a sterling silver 3-dimensional pin made in Taxco.

The realistic figural pin is all sterling with the top of the lock dipped in gold over the silver. The keys are also sterling with one of them gold-plated.

Pin measures 1 by 1 7/8 inches. It weighs 18.3 grams. The back has a secure rollover clasp.

Markings include TAXCO - MEXICO - 925 - SOC (silversmith's initials) and TO-14 (maker's registration). SOC is listed in the Little Book of Mexican Silver Trade and Hallmarks by Bille Hougart.

Excellent vintage condition. The only thing this will lock up is a lot of compliments.
