Now we know why peacocks strut. It's the colors of their feathers that are so stunning and flaunty. The same mix of colors that are in this necklace.

This vintage necklace is made with carnival glass beads that are a blend of purple, green, blue, pink and charcoal gray. The beads are made into long 3 inch dangles that hang from a chain of faceted jet black beads with goldtone bead spacers.

The necklace measures 15 1/2 inches long ending with a secure hookover clasp.

This type of iridescent beads were also called 'lava rock stones', used in jewelry by designer Elsa Schiaparelli. Not only is the color unique but there's that lava rock texture too.

Necklace is in excellent vintage condition. Circa 1950s. Feel free to strut.
