French and fabulous from the art deco era, this cut steel micro beaded handbag is a fine one.
The gazillions of steel beads are silver and tinted russet that combine into a deco-inspired pattern. The bottom is a shimmy of layered and zig-zagging beads in both colors.
The embossed silvertone frame has a hint of copper on one side and on the clasp. There may have been more of that color but there's little of it left.
The handbag measures 5 1/4 inches across by 11 inches high from top push-in clasp to the last dangling fringe.
The inside of the bag is lined in an ivorytone silk fabric that shows some splitting and may eventually need replacing though it's still pretty good. The original chain measures 7 1/2 inches from top of bag to center of chain.
Marked MADE IN FRANCE. The handbag exterior is very good...no tears or holes or staining. Just deco era elegance. Circa 1930.
