Lots of fine etchwork covers the top of this Victorian pin...circa 1860-1870...which can also be worn as a pendant. The top is gilded with gold or pinchbeck and the back is also gilt over brass.
The raised 'bow' in the center has black taille d'epergne enameling, a tiny bit of which is worn but barely noticed except when magnified.
The pin measures 1 5/16 inches across by 1 inch high. The back has the original old ~C~ pin with the pendant bail. If we tilt the pin toward the light, we can see a name and some numbers hand etched into the back but we can't quite make them out.
Beautiful, bright and in overall excellent condition.
