If you're going to be inspired by something, don't just copy it. Make it even better. And that's just what designer Judith Jack did with her love of Victorian and Art Deco marcasite jewelry.
This sterling silver marcasite pin is really striking. It's a two-part piece with a top that's cut-through with sections set with pyramid cut marcasite stones and in the center, the stones are cut at different angles for a change in the reflection.
The bottom dangle is shaped like a crest. The entire pin looks like it was inspired by some majestic medallion. All stones are intact with subtle light refracted dazzle.
Pin measures 2 inches across by 2 inches high. It weighs 18.2 grams. The back has a secure rollover clasp and is marked STERLING with < J - J > hallmark. Excellent vintage condition. Circa 1970s.
Jack is known as the 'Queen of Marcasite Jewelry' and this pin is one good reason why.
