It's mixed metals and mixed textures. This bracelet by CADORO is both textured silvertone and smooth goldtone. One criss-crosses over the other, making this vintage clamper bracelet a piece to wow the crowd.
The Duchess of Windsor and Barbra Streisand were just two of the many fans of Cadoro jewelry. Their innovative designs didn't look like everyone else's and top-quality materials were an important factor.
This bracelet is a small to medium size, measuring to fit a 6 to 6.5 inch wrist. It's 3/4 inch wide and has a 1/2 inch rise.
The hinge is strong. The bracelet clasp snaps together. The CADORO hallmark plaque is on the inside. This is circa 1950s...in excellent vintage condition. (Those dark spots you see are just light reflection and not actually on the bracelet.)
Cadoro was a Manhattan-based jewelry company founded in 1954 by actor Steven Brody and Daniel Stoenescu (aka Staneskieu). They specialized in unique costume jewelry sold in stores such as Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue. The company closed in 1987 following Brody's retirement as president. Examples of Cadoro jewelry are held by the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art. You can hold this neat bracelet for yourself.
