If you like old ethnic silver jewelry, here's a necklace to enjoy. It's an early Tibetan piece, hand-hammered out of silver (it tests for sterling grade).
The unusual shape of the pendant is inlaid with genuine coral and turquoise stones...some a bit crude and not quite matching each other...all the more ethnic 'folk art'. A row of old coral beads with silver dangles hangs along the bottom.
The pendant measures 1 7/8 by 2 1/8 inches. It's 1/4 inch thick. It hangs from a silver link chain (also tests for sterling) that measures 27 inches around. The necklace weighs 22.5 grams. Both front and back of the pendant are evenly hand-hammered and outlined in silver twisting rope.
The pendant / necklace is in excellent antique condition. Circa early 1900s.
