This vintage feather pin really tickles us. It's boldly longer than most real feathers and it's got the detailed texture too.
This feather pin looks a lot like the quill pens of yore when you dipped the tip in ink and wrote your autobiography for years. (History - The Quill pen is a writing tool which is made from a flight feather of a large bird and which uses ink to leave marks on a writing surface. ... It is not known when the first quills appeared, but it is known that some parts of the Dead Sea Scrolls were written with quill in 2nd century BC.)
The pin measures 6 5/8 inches long. It's 1 1/8 inches at the widest. The back has a secure rollover clasp. Unmarked.
Excellent vintage condition. Circa 1950s. Bright goldtone...the darkness in photo is caused by light reflection.
Don't dip this in ink or try to write with it but it's long enough to reach your back if you get an itch that you need to tickle.
