This Brutalist artisan necklace is beyond anything we usually come across. It came from a private Palm Beach estate and is a circa 1970s studio piece...surely one of a kind.
The entire necklace is solid sterling silver and handcrafted in an abstract Brutalist rough-hewn style. The figure is female, wearing a skirt, carrying a purse at side, and moving with 8 dangling rods as legs. The head is a large silver ball that reflects whatever is in front of it (including our photo lights).
The pendant measures 1 inch across by 6 1/2 inches long. It hangs from a substantial sterling silver anchor link chain that measures 32 inches around and ends in a secure spring ring clasp.
This human form necklace is unsigned but all parts of it have been acid tested for solid sterling silver. It weighs 87 grams.
Excellent vintage condition. Circa 1970s. This unique artisan piece was part of a small vintage Brutalist jewelry collection we recently purchased. A few were signed...a few were not. All were/are things you just don't see often, if ever.
(NOTE - We had to hike the chain up on the manikin as it's too long for her but not for you. You can even wear it doubled up.)
