Two heads are better than one. Especially in the form of a hand-crafted pendant, made of sterling silver and inlaid with genuine turquoise, red coral, black onyx and spiny oyster stones.
The two sides feature Mayan Aztec images in silver that's etched and filled with colored paint. Some of the paint has worn away and can be refilled though we didn't even notice it till we looked through a loupe.
The stone inlay on side one is intact. Side two shows what looks like a repair at lower right though, it too looks like part of the inlay to the eye.
The pendant measures 1 1/4 inches across. It's 1/4 inch thick and surprising heavy for its size...weighs 16.2 grams alone and 18.1 grams with the sterling silver chain.
The pendant bail is marked PLATA 925 - TD-103. This is the Taxco hallmark for Taller Delgado.
Overall in very good vintage condition. It's a unique piece crafted with a high degree of skill. Circa 1970.
