Mark Allen was a mid 20th century enamelist who, among other career highlights, had a shop on Cape Cod. There's not much information on him but his work speaks volumes about his talent.

This enamel pin on copper is artfully designed in a curved up, off-kilter shape with a gray and turquoise jacquard pattern. The diamond shapes of the design are perfectly speckled to look like terrazzo.

Pin measures 2 1/8 inches across by 1 1/2 inches high at widest. The back has a secure rollover clasp. Signed MARK ALLEN.

Excellent vintage condition. Circa 1950s/60s.

Some added history on Mark Allen from an article on the jewelry store Macefield in Modern Silver Magazine - Macefield was active in Winchester Mass. from circa 1950 - 1980s. It was started by Leonard Field and Bill Mason. Mark Allen met them when he was a teenager. Through their encouragement, Mark studied jewelry making and sculpture and spent weekends at the student union creating copper and enamel jewelry.
