This old Tibetan handwrought brass pendant figure strikes a meditative yoga pose. The pendant is large and studded all over with genuine coral, lapis and turquoise stones.
These handmade stone-covered pieces were a form of folk art in Tibet and Nepal where turquoise and coral were commonly used for decorating figures, masks, and jewelry.
The pendant measures 2 3/4 inches each way. The chain is actually a threesome of chains that measures 26 inches around. It has a secure screw barrel clasp.
The brass back is unmarked. It shows the hand hammering effect and the old unpolished patina.
Excellent vintage condition. There are no missing stones. This interesting ethnic piece looks great around the neck or as art on the wall. Circa 1950.
