Fine, sleek, and sassy. That sums up this vintage necklace by Napier. It's made of sterling silver with a rosy vermeil finish. The links look like elongated melons, rounded along the top, open on the back.
The necklace is marked NAPIER STERLING. It weighs 61.8 grams. It measures 15 inches around by 1/2 inch wide. Weighs 62 grams. Original decorative spring ring closure. Warm original patina can be polished up.
Marilyn Monroe wore Napier when she posed for the cover of “Movieland” magazine in 1954. That same decade, Mamie Eisenhower, Arlene Francis, Miss America, and the Duchess of Windsor all flaunted Napier. Doris Day even endorsed two namesake lines from Napier. The brand was often on the cutting edge of jewelry fashion which is why Napier was in so many fine department stores on Fifth Avenue.
This attractive Napier necklace is in excellent vintage condition.
