He's quite the character in colorful clothes and what looks like a feathered headdress. This ethnic man is enameled on copper, in a pendant shape that comes to a point. This miniature artwork was handpainted with a Modernist flair...the character might be a Native American chief, a flamboyant dancer, or a figment of the artist's imagination...we can't be sure who or what he is but we're sure we like him for his uniqueness.
Circa 1950s, the pendant measures 2 1/4 by 3 1/4 inches. It hangs from an attractive (newer) chain that measures 20 inches around with a jumpring clasp. The enameling is thick with areas raised up for extra texture and dimension. The back is also enameled in a dark gray color. There are a few specks of copper showing through around the edges which is common in these pieces.
