This vintage Mexican face mask pin is a striking contrast in sterling silver and carved black onyx. It's unique with the face rising up in a figural shape. The silver headdress is cut out in a geometric design against the recessed black oxidized silver backing.
The pin is circa 1940s. It measures 1 3/8 by 1 7/8 inches. The onyx face alone measures 3/4 by 1 1/8 inches.
Markings include the Eagle 3 stamp - 925 - artist's mark and the word MEXICO (partly covered by the Eagle stamp). Back has a secure rollover clasp. We've left the original aged patina as some people prefer it. Condition is excellent.
