Three little cherubs are pulling a wagon of flowers on this antique Victorian ashtray made of 800 silver. The hallmark is German...a crescent moon and crown, 800 for silver content, with the silversmith's initials...R.O.
The little oval tray is hand-wrought with cherub figures done in high relief and a raised rose-covered edge. It measures 5 1/4 by 3 inches by 5/8 inch high. Weighs 54 grams. This was intended to be an ashtray when Victorian sophisticates smoked but now this fanciful little dish makes a great vanity tray for pins, rings, and other pretty things.
Minor age tarnish will polish up. Excellent condition.
