Exquisite Art Deco era Chinese parure consisting of a necklace, earrings and bracelet. All of the pieces in the suite have carved amethyst beads with shou symbols on them. The necklace features a central medallion of a natural carved jade jadeite bi-pendant, carved in an organic pattern that frames a bezel set carved amethyst amulet at its center. The paperclip chain on the necklace is sterling silver and has two accent carved amethyst beads with shou design, they are flanked by two small rock crystal beads. The chain is currently 17" and has been extended in the back with a different type of metal chain. The pendant measures 1" in diameter, the shou beads measure 1/2" in diameter. The bracelet features two matching amethyst shou beads and three small round jade beads on sterling with green enamel links. It measures 7 1/2". Matching dangle earrings with french lever back earwires measures 2 5/8" in length and also are sterling with green enamel links and amethyst shou beads. The condition is good with the exception of some chipping to one of the beads on the bracelet. Due to the carving, this is camouflaged and does not detract. The set was difficult to photograph and looks much nicer in person. Chinese Deco jewelry is so intriguing and is a wonderful investment as the prices continue to escalate as they find their way into the best jewelry collections.
