Lovely antique cake stand done in the Art Nouveau Secessionist style. Also referred to as a pedestal taza, this piece is reminiscent of the tube lined tiles coming out of Europe in the early teens. This porcelain majolica cake stand was made in Czechoslovakia and is just gorgeous. The colors are outstanding with a rare teal blue and dove gray body. The design features lotus leaves and dogwood or poppy flowers in a window pane treatment on the face and the footed base also has the raised flowers complimenting the piece. The palette of the raised floral design is in muted pastels. Very pretty. The cake stand is marked Made in Czechoslovakia and is numbered 4507. It measures 4 1/2" high and 9 3/4" in diameter. Condition is wonderful. Words cannot begin to describe how beautiful this piece is!
